Boehmer Army Airfield: Named after what?

Two weeks ago, I received a nice mail from Jim from Philadelphia. He was assigned to the 5/6 ADA (Nike Hercules) and was stationed at he Hoppstadten-Weiersbach airfield between 1969 and 1971. Jim just returned from a Reunion (PDF) in Gatlinburg. They discussed the question, where the name "Boehmer Airfield" came from - but nobody knew.

This is a very interesting question! I found nothing in the internet. But maybe you know something about it? Then I would be very happy to get a mail from you!
