Bory Heliport

Location:
SW city limits of Plzen

Usage until 1945:
Verkehrsflughafen von Plzen, später Flugplatz der Luftwaffe.
Civil airport for Plzen, later Luftwaffe airfield.

Usage during the Cold War:
Helicopter base. 11. VRP with Mi-17 and Mi-24 (1990). In 1992, the helicopters moved to Dobrany.

Installations:
Im Süden befanden sich Hangars, die evtl. noch aus der Zeit von vor 1945 stammen könnten. Im Norden war ein befestigter Start- und Landestreifen, ungefähr in Ausrichtung 10/28. Dazwischen war eine Rasenfläche.

Operations:
Bei den CSSR-Luftstreitkräften wurde der Flugplatz auch als Navigacni Punkt 540 bezeichnet. Davor war es Navigacni Punkt 552. Anfang der 1990er Jahre erhielt der Platz noch den ICAO Location Indicator LKPB.

(Current) usage:
Der Flugplatz ist geschlossen und wurde zu einem Industriegebiet umfunktionioniert (siehe Link unten)
